John Baslock

Mr. John Henry Baslock of Vassar, Michigan passed away Sunday April 24, 2022, with his family at his side, at the age of 80.

John was the son of the late Roy and Agnes (Godbold) Baslock and was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on June 28, 1941. John retired from Super Foods /Nashfinch working as a truck driver. On September 26, 1964, John married Miss Joyce Henderson, and together they have celebrated 57 years of marriage and have a lot of wonderful memories. John was a great fan of University of Michigan, he loved also to golf, and spend time with family, and especially the grandkids. He never missed a sporting event of his kids or that of the grandkids. He and Joyce love spending their winter months in Orange Beach Alabama.  He had a great love for dogs and animals in general. As a young man John served in the US- Navy serving his duty on the USS-Rhodes.

John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Joyce, and their children. Michael (Lisa) Baslock, Michelle (Jeff) Klein, and Chad (Kimberly) Baslock, five grandchildren, Lindsay (Vince), Bryce, Hailey, Brandon, and Audrey. John also leaves two brothers, Donald (Theda) Baslock, and Allen Baslock, and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Friends are welcome at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, Michigan (4823 Main St. Millington, MI 48746) on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and for a brief time on Saturday at the church at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services for John will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Vassar Victory Center [800 State Rd. Vassar, MI 48768]. A private burial will take place at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan.
