Joanne D. Kaiser

June 1, 1933 — February 28, 2025

Millington

Mrs. Joanne Doris Kaiser passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 91.

Joanne was born on June 1, 1933, to the late Harold Derail Morford and Doris Dee (Armstrong) Morford of Saginaw, Michigan. Joanne married William John Kaiser on May 8, 1954, together they celebrated 69 years of marriage before his passing on December 27, 2023.

After graduating from Arthur Hill High School, she worked at a doctor's office as a secretary checking in sick patients and that is how she met the love-of-her-life, Bill Kaiser. After their wedding, they moved to Chicago, Illinois, and started a family of five children. In 1969, they moved back to Saginaw, Michigan, and for work.

Joanne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joanne's faith was an integral part of her life and valiantly served in each calling or assignment she was given.

Joanne loved sewing, a talent she learned from her mother, Doris Morford. Sewing gave her opportunities to teach others how to sew, make her own clothing, and clothing for her girls. Joanne soon found another love of sewing which was quilting. She quilted many quilts for family, friends, and all of her grandchildren. She also was very talented in the kitchen as she could make anything from her pantry. Christmas was her favorite holiday; from sewing Christmas dresses, making cookies, and sending out all of those Christmas cards to family and friends.

Joanne and Bill loved to travel. Some places they visited include: Hawaii, Holland, London, and Israel, and they enjoyed many cruises. They also enjoyed visiting family and many friends all over the U.S. and spent many summers at their cottage in Tawas.

Joanne and Bill were blessed with five children: Larry (Eurlyne) Kaiser of Millington, the late Craig (Kathleen) Kaiser of Utah, Katherine (Drake) Piper of Grand Rapids, Timothy (Lynette) Kaiser of Grand Blanc, and Sarah (Mark) Wray of Moscow, Idaho; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way. Late brothers, David Durrell Morford and John "Jack" Arthur Morford; sister, Debora Dee Kloph; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025; additional visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until the time of service.
