Jean Skank

August 4, 1960 — January 12, 2022

Millington - Jean Marie Skank, 61-- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean. Loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, partner and friend. Jean's warm and radiant light went out unexpectedly on January 12, 2022 at her home in Silverwood, MI.

Jean Marie Allard was born on August 4th, 1960 in Flint to parents Leo and Jeanette (Mossner) Allard. On this day, the angels broke the mold once she entered this world, as there never was and never will be another like her. As a life long Millington resident, Jean and her siblings were raised with strong, hard working, loyal and loving small town values that were modeled each day by their loving parents. Jean was an incredible cook, everything she made came effortlessly and was filled with love. Her light, love, sense of humor, shenanigans and laughter filled every room she walked into and she was a friend to everyone. To say Jean adored children would be an understatement, she worked for Millington Community Schools until she retired as a parapro from Kirk Elementary in 2017. Jean's love for children impacted many lives as is evident with memories from her children, her students, her nieces and nephews and most of all, the blessings to her that called her Nana/Grandma Jean. You could always find Jean in the sunshine, from the beaches of Florida to the waters of Torch Lake. She loved being outdoors and was passionate about camping, her flower gardens, yard work, cleaning, being on the go and her pup, Charli. Most of all, Jean was a devoted grandmother.

Left here on earth to cherish Jean's memory are her children, Brandon (Sammie) Skank, Danielle (Aaron) Thygesen and Bradley Skank, loving mother, Jeanette Allard, grandchildren, Brock, Bentley, Callie & Carter; sisters Janet (Jerry) Love, Joan (Dave Gibson), brother John (Diana) Allard; significant other, Mike Kurtz along with Mike's children & grandchildren, many adoring nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Charli.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Leo Allard, brother in law Bill Millington and her dear Wilson-- who we are certain were waiting to meet her at the gates of heaven.

In keeping with Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to unforeseen circumstances. A private memorial service has been rescheduled for immediate family on Friday February 4, at 11am. A virtual option will be available for family and friends that wish to take part in Jean's service. Please reach out to Janet Love, Joan Millington, or John Allard if you wish to join in virtually.  The burial service and a celebration of Jean’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial contributions to the family to put towards a charity of their choice.
