HEATH, James H. — Age 81, of Vassar, passed away April 15, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. James Harry Heath (Jim) was born June 17, 1938 in Flint. On Nov. 22, 1958, Jim married his wife of 51 years, Donna June Rennie. Jim and Donna moved to California where he served in the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps Reserves. In addition, he worked as an operations engineer for Jackson and Tory, Carnation Dairy and Safeway, Inc., from which he retired. He also volunteered for many organizations including as a Little League coach, a Boy Scout of America Den Leader, assistant golf coach, assistant tennis coach, and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8070.
Jim leaves to cherish his memory five children, Michael Curtis and wife AnDee Heath, April and husband Steve Pastis, Elizabeth and husband Mike Cohen, Shane and wife Sheri Heath and Paul Heath. He also leaves 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren; sister Darlene (Kittie) Heath, brothers Dean, Dan and Dale Heath as well as several nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends. Jim was preceded in death by a son, James Harry Heath, Jr. in 1973, his mother Glenavie Sullivan Heath Krupa in 2007, and his beloved wife, Donna in 2010.
Upon his request, cremation has taken place and the family will escort his ashes back to California for a memorial service and burial at Oakdale Cemetery, Glendora, CA. Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington has been assisting the family with arrangements.
