Jackie Jo Torrez

Ms. Jackie Jo Torrez, age 34, a caring, strong, and loving mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend passed away on March 7, 2025.

Jackie was born in Saginaw, Michigan, the youngest child of Jose & Juana Torrez (Palomares) on October 17, 1990. She was a graduate of Vassar High School and then continued her education at Saginaw Valley State University, earning her master’s degree in social work. Jackie proudly worked as a social worker with McDowell Health Services. She could light up any room and was a friend to many. She enjoyed line dancing and cherished the time she spent with her friends and family. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Vassar. Above all, Jackie loved her daughter, Mila, and her family. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Jackie is forever loved by her daughter, Mila Jo; parents, Jose & Juana; siblings: Danny, Angie, Marie, Christina, Mona, Sandra, and Genie; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa & grandma Palomares, grandpa & grandma Balli, grandpa & grandma Torrez; and brother, Joe.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family to help in their time of need.

The family will receive visitors at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Vassar from 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Funeral services will follow at the church at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025; additional visiting time will begin at 11 a.m. and last until the time of service. Afterwards she will be laid to rest in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
