Harry C. Burchett

Mr. Harry C. Burchett, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Maple Woods Manor in Clio, Michigan. Harry was born on Feb. 16, 1933, in Banner, Kentucky, to Homer & Stella Burchett. On Dec. 18, 1986, he married Carol Hecht, and they shared 38 years of marriage and countless memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Burchett; son, Kevin; stepchildren: Jason (Hope) Hecht, Jamie (Dimitri) Nisidis, and Jackie LaFontaine; grandchildren: Jessica (Andrew) Briggs, Abigail (Thomas) Brummeler, Samantha Hecht, Kristofer Nisidis, and Nikolas Nisidis; great-grandchildren, Lilah and Jeremiah; and friends. 

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Curtis and Bobby; and brother, Robert Burchett.

Before retirement Harry worked for General Motors for 27 years. His passion for exploration and travel led Harry and Carol to own & operate Wanderland Stagecoaches for 20 years. Their business led them around the country to 49 states (other than Hawaii) and most Canadian provinces. Further, Harry loved and had a passion for all animals, especially horses, dogs, and cats. For years he worked as a farrier and trained, bred, and showed horses. Above all, Harry loved time spent with family and being a grandfather to his grandchildren.

Memorial services for Harry will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington; visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Pastor Jim Bruner will officiate.
