Evelyn M. Yost

Evelyn May Yost, 84, peacefully passed away at her beloved farm on Saturday, March 18^th, 2023.

Evelyn was born at home in Arbela Twp., on October 15^th, 1938, to Albert & Adorna (Daly) Hoard. She married the love of her life, Rex Yost, and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing in May 2022. Evelyn retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. She was active in her community as a charter member of two ABWA Chapters: Deo Volente, Flint & Cass River-Frankenmuth, member of the GFWC Millington Women’s Club, and Order of the Eastern Star. Above all, Evelyn was devoted to and loved her family and the historic family barn.

She is survived by her daughter, Adorna (Joe Sr.) Mallard; grandchildren: Jilee (Zach) Leonard, Joe Jr. (Shelly) Mallard, Lindsay Mallard, John (Kim) Mallard; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Rex; son, David F. Yost; grandson, Jacob D. Yost; her parents Albert & Adorna; siblings: Albert Jr., Russell, Kenny, Orson, L.D., Unita, and Eunice.

Evelyn’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21^st, 2023, and again at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 22^nd, 2023, from 12 p.m. until the time of Evelyn’s 1 p.m. funeral service.  Immediately following, Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband, Rex, at Pine Grove Cemetery - Arbela Twp. There will be a dinner and a time of fellowship following the burial services at the Arbela Township Hall.
