Eugene Rowe

Eugene Richard Rowe of Vassar, Michigan ;passed away Sunday October 25, 2015 while at the Covenant Health Care Cooper Campus in Saginaw, Michigan. Eugene was 72.

Eugene was born in Marshall, Michigan on December 29,1942; to the late Ferris and Hilda (Smith) Rowe. On June 12, 1964 Eugene married Miss Catherine Kridler. He was a member of the National Guard and worked for 30 years for General Motors Truck and Bus until he retired in 1991. Gene also owned and operated Rowe’s Berry Farm in Vassar from 1984 to the present with his wife Cathy. Eugene attended the Vassar Nazarene Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, tinkering and inventing and especially treasured family time with his children and their families and his many siblings and sisters and brothers in-law. Eugene also cherished his dogs past and present.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 51 years Catherine, children Patricia and Chuck Coon, Michael and Brenda Rowe, Michele and John Cooper, Tina and James Oliver, Cathy/Punk and Daniel Drake, and Suzy and Rick Guelette, 14 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren; siblings Beverly and Larry Stratton, Ernest Rowe, Ferris and wife Gloria Rowe, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The Rowe family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Wednesday October 28, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also on Thursday from 11:00 am until services begin. Funeral services for Eugene will be at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Thursday October 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The burial and committal service will follow at the Tuscola Township Cemetery in Tuscola, Michigan. Pastor Brian Cheever will deliver the eulogy and committal prayer at the cemetery. Gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Vassar Food Bank.
