Mrs. Elaine M. (Benton) Snyder of Millington, MI passed away early Monday morning April 23, 2018. Elaine was 71.
The daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Hoard) Benton; Elaine was born on September 9, 1946 in Flint, Michigan. Elaine graduated from Millington High School after which she continued her education and graduated from college with a bachelors’ degree in elementary education. She then taught for a short time in the Lapeer Public School system. On July 27, 1967 Elaine married James Snyder, and together they have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Elaine was a member of the Millington United Methodist Church, where on Sunday’s she took care of the little ones in the church Nursery. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women. Elaine loved serving the church and did so in so many different ways. In later years after her teaching, she worked for a doctor in Lapeer doing the medical billing.
Elaine leaves her husband Jim and two sons and daughter in-laws, Eric and Dennyse Snyder, and Neil and Megan Snyder. She leaves also six grandchildren, Bryce, Wyatt, Mykah, Zackary, Gabriel, and Naomi, a sister Roberta (Richard) Lumsden, a brother Howard (Eleanor) Benton, and also nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents; Elaine is also preceded in death by a sister Barbara (Benton) Ill.
Elaine will lie in state on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at the Millington United Methodist Church where you can pay your respects; and the Snyder family will be present from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Following the visitation as Elaine has requested cremation will take place. On Monday May 14, 2018 at the Millington United Methodist Church at 7:00 pm there will be a celebration of Elaine’s life. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to the Millington United Methodist Children’s Ministry.
