MILLINGTON – Edward “Ed” Duwane Willson, age 81, our determined, caring, hard-working, and loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, neighbor, and friend, passed peacefully in the care of family at home on Friday, March 4, 2022.
Edward D. Willson was born in Clio, Michigan, on June 30, 1940, to the late Burt and late Martha (Budd) Willson. Ed graduated from Millington High School with the Class of 1959. Ed met the love of his life, the former Ellen (Bonnie) Rose in 1958. They were united in marriage on May 21, 1960. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage, raising their two children, and making countless memories as Ed coordinated many family events. After high school, Ed began his career with Eaton-Greedy Foundry in Vassar, Michigan; a position he held for over 30 years. Outside of work, Ed was passionate about hunting, fishing, and especially snowmobiling. Above all, Ed’s greatest joy was being devoted to and spending time with his family. Ed will be lovingly remembered as a jack of all trades and an exceptional provider. Our go-getter, best dad ever, grandfather, and friend will be missed dearly.
Ed is forever loved by his wife, Ellen (Bonnie); two children: Sherry (Jose) Aguirre, and Edward (Christal) Willson II; four grandchildren: Michael (Samantha) Aguirre, Ellen Willson, Kile (Abby) Lester, and J’Lynn Aguirre; eight great-grandchildren: Harper, Easton, Hazel, Evan, Emmett, Kane, Lucy, and Jax; brother, Del Willson; sisters-in-law, Jeanen Edwards and Donna Willson; brother-in-law, Harold Noyce; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loretta; brothers, Burt, George, Johnny, and Harold.
A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Saturday April 2, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Millington Community Center [8705 State Street Millington, MI 48746]. Come and join the family in celebrating Ed's life, telling stories, sharing and reminiscing. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting the family with arrangements.
