Edward John Artuso passed unexpectedly on July 5th, 2019 at the age of 84.
Edward was the son of John and Ida Artuso and was born in Oak Park, Michigan. He married Margie (Zevchak) who he knew since the age of 12 on September 22, 1956. Soon after the marriage he enlisted in the United States Army. While stationed in Germany his son Joe was born. The three of them were able to spend time in Italy with family. After his discharge and returning to the U.S. he worked as a cement mason. He joined the Brick Layers and Allied Craftsmen in 1966. In 1973 the family moved to Millington where for a time he commuted to “the city” for work. By 1977 Ed started his own business Artuso Company Incorporated. He took pride in his work and relished in the many friends he made through out the years. Moving to Murphy Lake gave Ed a place where he could entertain his city family and friends as well as making new friends. Summer lake days were always filled with food, drinks, boat ride, water skiing, and fishing. Later in life Ed and Margie became “snowbirds” in Florida. While in Florida Ed would also love to invite many to their winter home. There again he would take on the roll of entertainer, always offering food, drinks, and site seeing. Ed loved people and especially having fun. One of Ed’s true loves was Italy. In 1988 he returned with family he hadn’t seen for 40 years. Many more trips followed which included taking other family members to introduce to the Italian relatives. Ed loved to do good deeds. Whether it be a favor or delivering food to friends. He loved people and always gave selflessly. In 2017 Ed was very humbled by the award he received for his Community Service presented by the Millington Chamber of Commerce. Ed will be forever loved and remembered as a hard-working man who loved a good party and was blessed with a sense of humor by those who knew him.
Ed leaves to cherish is memory: Wife Margie of 62 years; his son Joe Artuso (Tiffany Prell); his eldest daughter Kim Williams; his youngest daughter Dawn (Andy) Montle; sister Darlene (Mark) Miller; brother-in-law Dr. John (Mary Ann) Zevchak; one grandson Joe Williams and two great-granddaughters Myia and Harper. As well as special friends Tom O’Kelly, William Harrison and the Lamrocks. Also, many cousins and a multitude of friends. Ed is preceded in death by his brothers; Alfred and Mario, sister-in-laws; Sally Anne, and Elaine Jonas and special friend Bob Lamrock.
