Donald (Don) Duvernois of Millington, MI passed into the arms of Jesus at home surrounded by family on September 13, 2020. He was 71.
Don was born on September 22, 1948. He married Sandra (Letson) on July 11, 1970. They recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Don was a 1966 graduate of Vassar High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the Marine Corp. and a double Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Buick Motor in Flint in 1988. Don dedicated his heart and life in service to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in 1980. He was a member of VisionPointe Assembly of God in Otisville, MI where he served in the Royal Rangers Ministry, the Men's Ministry, the Visitation Ministry, the Sound Ministry including audio and video, and served as a church board member for many years. He enjoyed softball and coached for Tuscola Youth Softball for many seasons.
Don will forever be loved and missed by his wife Sandra (Sandy) and eight children: Michelle (Shelley) Huffman (Ray Lepien), Shelly (Duane) Zimmerman, Robert (Marie) Duvernois, Chris (Jennifer) Duvernois, Melissa Bowman, Jessica (John) Ledford, Steven Duvernois, and Andrea Duvernois Rayne; 15 grandchildren: Ryan (Alyssa) Huffman and Amy (Jon) Warren; Betheen Zimmerman; Brianna, Jazzmynne, and Collin Duvernois and Raven Haengel; Austin Duvernois and Selena Chapa; Kelsey Duvernois, Maedison and Joey Andress, and Camdyn McBride; Chase Bussa and Ariel Ledford; and 6 great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Ellie Huffman; and Tucker, Everett, Beau and Natalie Warren. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: JoAnn Ervin, Shearon Lindstrom, Walter (Darlene) Duvernois, and Clifford Duvernois (Sherry Urban); his stepparents, Arnold and Leona Schmitter, as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. and Alice (Remender) Duvernois; father and mother-in-law, Loren and Ruth (Schurman) Letson; brother, James Tucker; sister, Jeanette Englehart; brother-in-law, Rich Edwards, sisters-in-law, Sharon Thoms, Judy Letson, and Cheryl Letson; nieces, Sharri Steward and Tammy Letson; and nephews, Paul Ervin, Dean Lindstrom Jr., and Lance Edwards.

The family would like to invite friends to Hanlin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and 10:00 am to 11:00am Friday morning before the service. The funeral will be Friday, September 18, 2020 at Hanlin Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions in Don’s memory may be made to Heartland Hospice Care, VisionPointe Assembly of God, or the Tuscola County Veterans Affairs Agency.
