Mr. Donald "Don" Evan Horton, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home on North Lake.
Don was born in Flint, Michigan, on June 1, 1935, to F. John & Mabel (nee Peterson) Horton. He married the love of his life, Bethany Beaven, and together they raised their family and celebrated over 68 years of marriage. Don and Beth were longtime members of the Millington United Methodist Church and current members of the Davison Free Methodist Church. Before retirement, Don worked for 42 years with Buick as a millwright and 25 years as a farmer. He enjoyed time spent on North Lake, fishing, and especially with his grandchildren. Above all, Don was a family man and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survived by his beloved wife Beth Horton; children: Patricia (Bob) Horton Fay, Steve (Pam) Horton, Jill (Andy) Tuckness, Karen (Chris) Niezgucki, and Nancy Horton; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Ted (Doris) Horton; sister, Carolyn Hook; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty (the late Bill) Rogers; brothers-in-law, Robert Hook, Carnell Hollis, and Rev. Thomas (the late Marjorie) Beaven.
Services for Don will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington; visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and last until the time of service. Pastor Brian Hall will preside.
Memorial donations in Don's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
