Dennis O. Ford

Dennis O. Ford, age 66, of Vassar, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 22^nd, 2023.

He was born on December 31^st, 1956 to Jack C. & Lois M. (Clampitt) Ford in Flint. He resided in Vassar with his family and friends his whole life.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jack C. Ford; grandparents, Loren & Eleanor Clampitt, and Clarence & Gladys Ford; and longtime partner, Suzanne Peters.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Lois M. Ford of Vassar; daughter, Sarah E. Ford of Germany; son-in-law, Anthony M. Tindale; grandson, Kaelob J. Ford; granddaughter, Isabella E. Tindale; brother, Dan R. Ford of Vassar; sisters, Viola M. (Ford) Bender of Bridgeport, and Gwen E. (Ford) Wiacek of Posen; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dennis attended Vassar Public Schools. He enjoyed being outdoors, nature, and gardening. Further, he loved fishing and having bonfires with his grandson, reading about history, woodworking & building. He also enjoyed watching westerns and old movies. He took up painting later in life and truly enjoyed it. In his youth, he loved snowmobiling, riding horses, hunting & camping. He had a loved for animals and in his lifetime raised pigeons, chickens, sheep, horses, and family pets. He enjoyed traveling to Northern Michigan, and loved taking many trips with his sister, Gwen. He was an easy-going person and had some life-long friends from kindergarten and middle school including, Randy Tausch, of Vassar, who came every Sunday to visit and was like a brother; as well as Dave Kischnick, of Vassar. He will be deeply missed by all who truly knew and loved him.

Dennis’ family will welcome guests to Pineview Mennonite Church (4415 Swaffer Road, Vassar, MI 48768) on Saturday, April 8^th, 2023, for a memorial service at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow shortly afterwards also at the church.
