Debra (Foote) Gilchrist

Debra Gilchrist, 66 of Holt, Michigan passed on January 13, 2022 at 9:30pm at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born September 23, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to Shirley Foote.

Deb, as she was affectionately known, married Timothy Gilchrist, on March 24, 2006 and is survived by her husband, 3 children and six grandchildren; Rachel & Tevya Finger (Ivy-8, Della-8, Meadow-5), Stacy Roman (Kelsie 16), and Jeffrey & Brooke Roman (Mila-4, Leo-1) along with her siblings Karen Cutler, Deb Kiser, Wendy Kolbusz, George Foote, Craig Foote, Pam Morgan. Besides her parents, Deb is also preceded in death by a brother Brian Foote.

Deb will be remembered throughout her family and community as an incredibly selfless and nurturing individual.  She spread joy and laughter wherever she went and especially loved spending time in her garden, travelling with her husband, arts and crafts projects and caring for her grandchildren.   As an adult, Deb earned her bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University and excelled in her professional career.  She assisted and mentored youth in her community. Her tenacity, commitment and strength has been an inspiration to so many people. She loved a good laugh, live music, family Yahtzee games and trips to the casino.  Her presence and memory will forever live on through those who were fortunate enough to know her.
