Mr. Dean Wayne Bedtelyon, age 81, our hardworking, caring, loving, and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was called home to the Lord on Friday, February 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Saginaw, Michigan.
Dean was born on February 17, 1943, in West Branch, Michigan, to Era & Lanettie Bedtelyon (née Coon). He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1967. Through friends, he met the love-of-his-life, Rosemary Kemp. They were married on July 13, 1968, and made their home in Millington. Together they shared countless memories, raised their four children, and celebrated over 56 years of marriage. Before retirement, Dean worked for Buick City for 33 years. Afterwards, he worked with McDonald’s Chevrolet as a driver. Dean was an active member of the Lions Club and enjoyed distributing mints, working at the cider & donut booth during Halloween and food booth during the Millington Summer Festival. Further, Dean was a member of Calvary Chapel Fellowship and loved the Lord. Above all, Dean was a family man and wore the titles of Husband, Dad, and Grandpa proudly. He never missed an event or game and was always the kids’ biggest supporter.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary Bedtelyon; children: Roxanne (Dennis) Phelps, John (Dacia) Bedtelyon, Deana Bedtelyon, and Shelley (Kevin) Henry; grandchildren: Billy, Daniel, Winter, Autum, Petra, Peyton, Caleb, Alex, and Hadley; brother, Raymond (Gloria) Bedtelyon; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Era & Lanettie; brother, Jay Bedtelyon; and granddaughter, Angelic.
