David (Dave) Rogers

Mr. David (Dave) Rogers of Millington and Vassar, MI passed away late Thursday afternoon March 14, 2019. Dave was 71.

David was born on April 5, 1947 in Bad Axe, Michigan and was the son of the late Paul J and June E. (Sinclair) Rogers. On September 12, 1987 Dave married Paris Taylor, and together she and Dave celebrated 27 years of marriage before Paris passed away in June of 2014. Dave was retired, most of his career he worked as a Plant Manager, working in the United States, Canada and Mexico setting up factories.  Dave served our country by serving in the US-Air Force. Dave loved spending time with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Dave leaves to cherish his memory is his family. Children; Christopher (Christiana) Rogers, Heather (John) Gugel, Paul Rogers, Andrew Rogers, and Aurianna Rogers. He leaves his grandchildren; John Gugel, Brandon Johnson, two great-grandchildren; Gavin Kern, and Ariel Kern. Three sisters; Ann Oprea, Lori Rogers (husband Scott Bellinger), and Lisa Rogers. His extended family; mother and father in-law; Norma and Lloyd Taylor, sister in-law, Shelli (Dennis) Lugg, nephew Mason Lugg, many friends, and other extended family. Besides his wife and parents, Dave is also preceded in death by; a brother Daniel, brother in-law Robert Reynolds, and a nephew Anthony Oprea.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial gathering to visit and share stories with the Rogers family on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday for a brief time at the St. Paul Lutheran Church from 9:00 am until the services begin. The life celebration services for Dave will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, lead by Pastor James Bruner.  Memorial Gifts of Remembrance in Dave’s memory can be directed a college fund to be established for Andrew and Auriana, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
