David J. Bradley, Sr., a life-long Vassar resident, passed away on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, at the Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth surrounded by loving family. David was 87.
David was born on June 30th, 1935, in Tuscola Twp to the late Earl and the late Hilda (Henderson) Bradley. He was raised in Vassar and graduated from Vassar High School. Afterwards, David honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his return home, he worked and then retired from General Motors. On November 2nd, 1957, David married the love of his life, the former Betty L. Dubac. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage, raising their children, and making countless memories. A true outdoorsman, David was passionate about hunting, fishing, being on the farm, and going “up north”. Further, David was an avid Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed restoring his ’58 Chevy, which he affectionately referred to as “Ole Blue”. Above all, David was a proud family man and loved being a grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is forever loved by his wife, Betty; sons, David Bradley, Jr., and Tom (Crystal) Bradley; son-in-law, Rod Blake; grandchildren: Margaret (Tim), Joshua (Amber), Lydia (Drew), Kendall, and Emilee; great-grandchildren, Caleb, and Henry; several nieces, nephews, and extended family; and beloved dog, Bella.
David is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Peplinski; grandson, Jacob Schlereth; and his siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Millington, Wellspring Lutheran Home, Frankenmuth or Wellspring Hospice.
The family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th, 2022. David’s memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. James Bruner presiding.
