MILLINGTON – Daniel John Moncman, 62, our loving, hard-working, and passionate husband, father, and grandfather, in the care of family, passed peacefully to his Heavenly home on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
Dan was born in Saginaw on May 5, 1959 to parents Edward and Delores Moncman; the sixth of eleven children. Dan grew up alongside his siblings on the family farm in Vassar. These formative years taught Dan many lifelong skills and values. He graduated with the Vassar High School class of 1978. Dan met his wife, Kim in 1974. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 10, 1979. Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage, three children, grandchildren and countless memories.
Dan retired from Super Foods/Nash Finch after 31 years of service. He was involved in groups such as Quality Deer Management (QDM) and the National Rifle Association (NRA). Dan was known by most as an avid hunter. In addition, he was a handyman with many passions including skilled trades, archery, and mechanics. Other hobbies included working with his 1947 Farmall M, playing a good game of euchre, and watching the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. Dan will be remembered as a sincere and patient man who made time to help and listen to others. Above all, Dan loved and was deeply devoted to his family.
Those left to carry on Dan’s legacy include his wife of 42 years, Kim; children, Danny Moncman, Kevin (Jessica) Moncman, Jen (Chris) Hemker; grandchildren, Brandon (Kayleigh) Moncman, Jillian Tomlinson-McMahan, Blaine Hemker, and Colt Hemker; great-grandchildren, Braden Moncman and Motlee Moncman; siblings, Ron (Kathy) Moncman, Ed (Debbie) Moncman, Tim (Marty) Moncman, Dale Moncman, Cindy Daenzer, Debbie (Chad) Steiner, Jean (Roy) Gordon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
