Mrs. Courtney Ann Callahan, age 42, won her eternal life with our Savior Jesus on January 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She now rests with our loving Savior, free from sickness, pain, and suffering, and has joined the angels in Heaven. Through her sadness, we also rejoice that she now lives eternally through the power of the Resurrection.
Born on May 1, 1982, in Saginaw, Michigan, Courtney attended grade school K-8 at St. Michael’s Lutheran School and high school at Vassar Public Schools. She pursued higher education at Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She later received her master’s degree in Reading from Walden University.
In 2002, Courtney met the love of her life, Joey Callahan. Their first date was spent mushroom hunting, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. They have two beautiful daughters, Ava and Addison, whom Courtney adored.
Courtney was a dedicated 6th-grade teacher at St. Michael’s Lutheran School and a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville, Michigan. She enjoyed taking walks, spending time with family, soaking up the sun on the beach, reading, and cherishing moments with her girls.
Active in her community, Courtney was a member of the Richville Livestock 4-H Club, the founder of the Kindness Club at St. Michael’s School and served as the Assistant Cross Country and Assistant Track Coach for St. Michael’s. She was known for her loving, caring, kind, brave, and selfless nature.
Courtney leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. Courtney is survived by her husband, Joey Callahan; daughters, Ava and Addison; her favorite couch companion, Lulu; her mother, Julie Landskroener and her friend, Ken; her brother, Casey Landskroener, and his wife, Maegan; in-laws, Robert and Bonnie Callahan; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Callahan) and her husband Dan Stedry; sister-in-law, Sherri (Callahan) and her husband Ryan Stein; nieces and nephews: Kendyl, Cooper, and Camden Landskroener, Tyler Rainey (Abby), Laiken Bowden (Collin), Hudson and Amelia Stein; and her dear friend, Megan Roeser.
