Connie Allendorfer

June 8, 1947 — April 1, 2022

Connie Rae Allendorfer (McPherson) passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2022. She was 74 years old.

Connie was born to Harry and Lena McPherson on June 8th, 1947 in Flint, MI. She graduated from Millington High School in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Ben Allendorfer, on March 20th, 1965. She worked for many years at the Millington Arbela District Library teaching story hour. She also taught catechism and was an election volunteer. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of St. Francis X Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar.

Connie was a beacon of kindness to all who met her and considered herself a “tough old bird”. She always put others first. She enjoyed looking at lighthouses throughout Michigan, searching for bald eagles, going to the casino, taking pictures (she always had a camera in her hand), making snowmen, blowing bubbles with her grandkids, cheering on the Michigan football and basketball teams, watching The Waltons, and listening to country music and Danny O’Donnell. She loved to sit outside on her swing with her friends and family, sharing stories. Her favorite color was green. She grew to share her husband’s love of German Shepherds. She loved Christmas and dressing up as Mrs. Claus. She made friends with the local Amish community and loved when they came to sing Christmas carols to her. Above all, Connie was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

Connie is forever loved by her husband of 57 years, Ben Allendorfer; children Barb (Mike) deCheubel, Bonnie (Ed) Roesner, Ben (Tonya) Allendorfer, and Brandon (Tara) Allendorfer; son-in-law Mike Jackett; grandchildren Steven Gruehn, Azurah (Billy) Karl, Tyler (Brianna) Sweers, Troy deCheubel, Andrew (Danielle) Jackett, Emily (Devin McDowell) Allendorfer, Bradley Allendorfer, Lucas Jackett, Karsten Allendorfer, and Blaine Allendorfer; great grandson Grayson Sweers; siblings Harry (Sharon) McPherson, Bill (Faith) McPherson, and Sandi Bare; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Connie is preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Jackett; her parents, and several close friends.

The Allendorfer family would like to invite friends and family to Hanlin Funeral Home on Monday, April 4th from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
