Anthony (Tony) Zimmerman

Anthony (Tony) Zimmerman of Vassar formally of Millington passed away on December 29, 2019 at the age of 50.

Tony was born on October 30, 1969 to John and Shirley Zimmerman. Tony's passions were his family, community and youth. He and Robin, high school sweethearts, were married for 27 years and he made Robin and his daughters the center of his world, they were his everything. Over the years Tony volunteered for the Millington Fire Department as an EMT and First Responder, a childhood dream to ride the truck with Uncle Al and Grandpa Pete. Tony donated his time coaching youth football, baseball and softball of all ages with many teams, organizations and individuals. A passion that began with coaching his niece and daughters throughout their athletic career. Currently, Tony was serving as assistant coach for the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals, where he leaves behind a softball family he loved and cared for a great deal.

Tony is forever loved by; wife Robin (McDaniel) Zimmerman. His two daughters; Madison (Aaron) Petzold, and Haley Zimmerman Fiancé (Jonathan Eimers). His Mother: Shirley Zimmerman. His Mother and Father-in-law John and Penny McDaniel. His brother and sister; Joshua (Sarah) Zimmerman and Julie Zimmerman. His brother-in-law and sister-in-law David & Pattie McDaniel. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great niece and nephew, and many extended family and friends.

Tony is preceded in death by his Father John Zimmerman and grandparents.

The Zimmerman family would like to invite family and friends for visitation on Thursday January 2, 2020 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral will be Friday January 3, 2020 at the Millington United Methodist Church starting at 11:00am with a time of visiting before the funeral at 10:00am. Directly following the funeral the family would like to invite you to a luncheon at the Millington Community Center. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vassar Youth Baseball and Softball and Tuscola Youth Softball, and the Saginaw Valley State College Soft Ball program.
