Mr. Anthony Ray Dever of Flint, Michigan passed away Saturday October 26, 2019 at the age of 73.
Anthony was born in Chico Valley California on April 28, 1946 and was the son of the late Sherman W. and Zenith B. (Osburn) Dever. Anthony served in the U.S.-Army during the Vietnam war. He was an active Entrepreneur and for many years he owned various businesses in the Flint area. The one he was most proud of was Blackbeard’s Restaurant. It was his love of cooking, especially seafood, that evolved into him becoming the owner and manager of Blackbeard's restaurant. Ray was the name he preferred and was most well-known by. Ray loved to travel and was able to tour most of the United States and other various countries.
Anthony leaves his two son’s Damien, and Tyler Dever, and a daughter Amanda Novak-Loper. His three grandchildren; Trenton, Joseph and Nevaeh. A brother and his wife Charles (Nadejea) Dever, as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides his parents Anthony is also preceded in death by two brothers; Albert and Joseph, and a sister Debbie.
The family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, Michigan on Thursday Oct. 31, 2019 beginning at 11:30 am and his funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm. In keeping with Anthony’s request, cremation will follow with the private burial of his urn later.
