Mr. Andre “Andy” Joseph Stratton, age 72, our loving, humble, mischievous, and caring, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.
Andy’s family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington from 3:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025; additional visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. and last until the time of service. Rev. Jim Bruner will preside.
Andy was born in Marlette, Michigan, on June 10, 1952, to Donald & Alzine Stratton (née Peters). He grew up in North Lake alongside his siblings and in his youth enjoyed roller-skating and boating. He began school in a one-room schoolhouse, then attended. Paul’s Lutheran School in Millington and graduated from Millington High School with the class of 1970. In the 5th grade, Andy met Marlene Schiefer and the two began dating in high school. They were wed on October 3, 1970, and shared countless memories, raised their children, and celebrated over 54 years of marriage.
Andy worked for GM for 30 years and after his retirement operated a sand blasting business. Andy was active in many groups and clubs including the Mid-Michigan Antique Association of Clio, MI, where he was a member for 27 years and the president for 15 years. As well as, the Mid-Michigan Gas Tractor Association of Oakley, MI, where he helped run the engine barn. And was a member of the Gleaners. Andy often lent his help to others as he started benefits that include the Tractor Safari at the Stratton home, donating money &, toys to the Tuscola Mud Runners and the Murphy Lake Pike Pull. He enjoyed hobby farming, collecting blow torches, and restoring hit & miss engines and tractors. Above all, Andy loved his family and the time he spent with them. He will be deeply missed.
He is forever loved by his wife of 54 years, Marlene Stratton; sons, Jeffrey (Tammy)Stratton and Corey Stratton; mother, Alzine Stratton; grandchildren: Josh, Justin (Shalina) Stratton, Brandee Stratton, Faith Stratton, James Stratton, DeVon Stratton, Taryn (Ethan) Jobson, and Tom (Makala) Riedel; great-grandchildren: Carter, Dakota, Calvin, Makenna, Kayden, Elliot, Jax, Mia, Ellis, and Nova; siblings: Rock Stratton, Marianne Stratton, Edward Stratton, and Chris Postler; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Donald Stratton; in-laws, Marion Schiefer and Marvin Schiefer; and stepsiblings: Bill, Judy, and Terry.
Those desiring, may direct memorial donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Millington or Millington Historical Society.
