Aletha (Vedder) Naber of Millington, MI passed away Saturday October 12, 2019 at the age of 101.
Aletha was the daughter of the late Wesley & Helen (Gary) Vedder, and was born in Berlin, Wisconsin on October 19, 1917.
Aletha graduated from Fond du Lac High School in Wisconsin in 1935, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 1939, and worked for many years as a teacher in Millington and Trout Creek, Michigan. She was an avid flower gardener, writer, painter, adventurer and traveler. She was a whiz at crossword puzzles and regularly beat her grandchildren at Scrabble.
Aletha leaves her children; Nanette Reed, Diane Beck, and Dale Naber. Her two grandchildren Monica Beck-Fairbanks (Steve), Jon (Colleen) Wenk, two great-grandchildren; Will Wenk, and Aletha Wenk. Besides her parents, Aletha is also preceded in death by her husband Warren in 1988, daughter Kay Wenk in 1988, and son Scott in 2017.
Friends may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Thursday October 17, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm and will also be held at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI. The burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, Michigan.
